 Whitehills Trip with RoamOZ

We all met up at the Mandurah forum at 0845hrs, BigBaz, Hedge hopper, AllanT, JB, Mick51 and myself. Hedge hoppers wife came along only to find the boys had all come without our better halves so Phill was going to drop her off at thier unit.. only to get there and find they had locked the keys inside, first drama for the day.
We departed 0910 to head to Whitehills road and Mick51 happily took the lead to get us there directly as the trip leader was already confused about the quickest way there..

Whitehills road we met up with RoamOz to airdown and listen to thier pre trip meeting..as said in the previous post there were 6 of us and 16 of them, so all in all a pretty good turn out and a long train of cars, smallest being a Kia sportage and a Mazda tribute.
We headed on to the beach at 10am with the temperature already climbing towards the 37 degree maximum.
One of the roamOz guys had a camera mounted on a 4 propeller airborne machine so was getting in some filming as the convoy made its way down the beach, which can be flown from in car either with goggles or looking at the laptop.. pretty good piece of kit..
We made our way down the beach both up near the dunes at some points to down near the water line managing speeds up to 40-50kph when the going was easier. There were a fair few others on the beach getting in a bit of swimming or fishing.
We stopped at near Preston beach for lunch, where RoamOz put on a sausage sizzle, and had plenty of shade errected as the day was getting pretty warm. We were there for 2 hours, and got to see some of the footage filmed earlier.. pretty impressive we toy I must say filmed in HD and stabilised pictures..
After 2 hours all of WPC except Mick51 decided to head further dowm the beach to Binningup, heading off at a pretty brisk rate of knots we all experienced an increase in engine temp backing off just before we got there to give the engine temps time to cool off just a little.
We aired up at Binnigup before heading down the highway and home
All in all a good day, no one broke anything and the only one with a hint of drama was me, with a blocking in line filter that was rectified with buying a replacement on the way home (put my spare in earlier in the day)

A big thankyou to those who attended as well as RoamOz for thier invitation and hospitality. They where a great bunch of likeminded people and a great family orientated club..

Wilbinga with the FOS

Everyone was there before the meeting time of  9.00am along with 2 other 4X4 clubs that were heading up to Wilbinga. We drove past the normal entrance and  headed up to Wilbinga Grove turn off hoping to avoid the stampede from the other clubs.

After a short drive in, we made it to the beach and with the temperature all ready climbing we all quickly stripped down to our mankinnies and plunged into water. Man that water was magnificent. Tuff Tonka and FOS also had a play with their 7” thingies…….you know….. Those GPS thingies.

When everyone was refreshed we headed up off the beach to follow the tracks further south only to run into one of the other clubs trying to do a small hill climb. We waited for about half an hour for them but it was obvious it was going to take them all day to get them all up and over so we went around them heading  further south to another play area.

Then it was back onto the beach for lunch and another quick dip before heading out towards Wanneroo road. On the way we stopped off to tackle the big hill near the gate. A few tried the hill from the south side with out success. All in all, another great day out with the WPC!
